Meet our team
Igor Alves Fukushiro
Igor Fukushiro has over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, with a career marked by the development and structuring of photovoltaic projects at different scales. He was directly involved in creating a portfolio exceeding 200 MW in distributed generation and 4 GW in centralized generation, covering all stages of the development cycle: area prospecting, obtaining environmental licenses, grid connection processes, large-scale project management, and securing investments and participation in energy auctions.
With a focus on the energy transition, he currently works on project development, business origination, and structuring partnerships for energy and infrastructure projects linked to the exploration of salt caverns (onshore and offshore) for geological energy storage (Natural Gas, CAES) and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Alvaro Maia da Costa, Ph.D.
Professional with over 45 years of experience applying computational techniques to the development of geomechanical projects for the Mining and Oil & Gas industries. He works in the Civil Engineering field, emphasizing Geotechnics, addressing topics such as: finite elements, structural design of oil wells and salt caverns, stability analysis of submarine and onshore slopes, soil-structure interaction, reservoir integrity analysis, and underground excavations.
He developed several computational simulators applied to problems of non-linear structural dynamics, viscoplasticity, and elastoplasticity, with applications in foundations, stability of oil wells and salt caverns, slope stability, underground excavations, and special structures.
He served as the manager of Scientific Methods at the PETROBRAS Research Center (CENPES), technical advisor to the E&P directorate, and technical advisor to the presidency, responsible for applying computational mechanics to Exploration and Production projects, including over 200 wells in the Brazilian pre-salt and caverns opened in salt rock, stemming from more than 40 years of experience and research on the subject. Patents, software, and awards: Full member of the National Academy of Engineering; winner of the SPE Technical Excellence Award; decorated with the Tamandaré and 'Friend of the Navy' (Amigo da Marinha) medals by the Brazilian Navy, in recognition of scientific contributions to the institution; received 5 Technical Excellence Awards and 5 Inventor Awards from Petrobras; he is the author of 12 patents and 11 technical software applications for engineering.
Hugo Francisco Lisboa Santos, M.Sc.
Engineer with over 15 years of experience in R&D&I, working on complex projects in energy, robotics, oil, and drones. At CENPES/Petrobras, he coordinates strategic projects such as the Robin Project (robots for rigless well intervention) and the Annelida Project (hydrate and paraffin removal in offshore pipelines), generating relevant savings for the industry. He is the Engineering Director at SyraSolar, where he leads solar energy solutions, including the Zefiro Project (high-autonomy solar airship for power plant monitoring), financed by development agencies and in partnership with universities and research centers.
Education: undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering from IME (1st place overall; Marechal Hermes Medal) and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from PUC-Rio (robotics), having developed a robot for well interventions. He holds 31 awards (including the ANP Innovation Award and Petrobras Inventor), 13 national patents, and 88 international patents.
Key competencies: management of multidisciplinary projects, disruptive technological development, robotics, solar energy, reservoir engineering, well drilling and completion, and innovation applied to the energy sector. Results-oriented profile, connecting companies to the ecosystem of startups and emerging technologies to generate value and sustainability.
Pedro Vassalo Maia da Costa, Ph.D.
Post-doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of USP, with a Ph.D. in Energy Planning from COPPE - UFRJ, and a master's degree in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis on Logistics from PUC-Rio.
His academic trajectory, including his dissertation and thesis, is focused on gas storage in salt caverns, an area in which he has published several articles in indexed journals and international conference proceedings, in addition to holding two patents.
As a Director at MODECOM, he led numerous engineering projects for multinational companies and was awarded the ANP Technological Innovation Award, the most important in the oil and gas sector in Brazil, for developing a technology for CO₂ and natural gas separation and storage in salt caverns.
As a Director at SYRASOLAR, he coordinated hundreds of photovoltaic distributed generation projects for the residential, commercial, and industrial segments over the last seven years, receiving the Energy Future award, the largest innovation grant in the Brazilian electricity sector. With extensive expertise in renewable energy technologies, energy planning, and storage systems, he established R&D partnerships with leading academic institutions. He also secured significant resources for research and development, including grants from FAPERJ and FINEP.
